    Sheriff Lee Baca

so yesterday i was in my local gun shop (Bain&Davis) and i saw a guy who was conceal carrying and resembled LA County's Sheriff Lee Baca in plain civilian clothes. i asked the sales man that i was talking to if that was the Sheriff and he told me "this is the last place you'd catch Sheriff Lee Baca in, he is Anit-Gun. And that is why YOU and any regular citizen living in Los Angeles County will never get a CCW." so sad...

Just because Baca is anti 2A for everyone else doesn't mean he doesn't like or own them himself. I would have asked the guy personally.

Baca has been a catastrophe in almost every way. Can't wait for his retirement.

Members from a certain unit within the LASD who were testing rifles, asked the Sheriff if he would authorize deps a letter, thus allowing them to purchase their own semi-auto AR-15 rifles (like most other departments' Chiefs and Sheriffs do). Baca replied back with, "...no, because I don't want my deputies to own 'MACHINE GUNS."
          Unreal....

Those of you waiting for Baca to retire dont get your hopes up that things will change, he is grooming an under sheriff that will probably end up getting elected who is just Baca re-incarnate. It wont get better anytime soon until the laws in CA become more 2a friendly.

A little bird on the inside told me that he can't possess any guns due to a domestic violence charge on his record.

That little nugget has been tossed out before. If it is the case, it's well and thoroughly sealed and has yet to be proven in a public venue that I've ever found.

While I disagree with him politically (in a number of areas) and fundamentally on his position concerning the private ownership of firearms, unless someone can prove that to a fact, it's nothing more than gossip.

Doesn't he never carry a firearm when in uniform? I'm no expert but I always thought that was a giveaway.

He most definitely carries a real firearm at times - can he legally carry one? Noone has 'proved' that he's prohibited...
