I don't think the 187 was ever authorized...or the 245 for that matter. I have one of the newer remakes of the 415 the emporium is selling. That's as close as I'll probably get.

        Nice collection. Pics!

There was a guy at the place where all the buses are who made me one, very good quality and bigger and heavier than some retail models I've seen. Name and numbers engraved on it too.

Don't forget the little know "417" model. Looked just like the "415" but was slightly heavier. My "415" got lost during the Northridge earthquake when it got left in ANG Helicopter.

The "415" was the only authorized one.

If they are what I am thinking they are, we disallowed them years ago. I have mine safely tucked away in my boxes of keepsakes and memories!!

Mine has never left my warbag because I guess I just never had the cajones to walk around the station with it hanging out of my back pocket.

I carried my every shift from my first day of training until the chopper ate it.

                      Great tool!

LA Sheriff and Long Beach PD are the only two departments I know that continue to authorize their use.

When in FOR II, I see guys carrying them on a regular basis. When I was on patrol, I always carried mine. In fact, at the current assignment, I have my locker a 415, just in case I get thrown back in a radio car!!! I sold the 245 models years ago. I wish i had them back and a 187 for a conversation piece.

If you really think about it, they look so much LESS "wicked" to the public than standing in a "base ball batter's" stance with a PR24, waiting to "hit a home run" (quote badly and inapropriately used by the Rodney King officers).

The 415 is smaller and doesn't look like the proverbial "POLICE BILLY CLUB" that is "swinging" over a cop's head on his "down stroke." Know what I mean??? I'm surprised more departments don't authorize it's use. It's a more low profile impact tool.
