Looking for a specific police patch

I am looking for a very specific police patch and was wondering if anybody had any "patch guy" contacts. The patch is a La Verne Police Department patch from some time ago. It is distinct as it has a heart-shaped emblem in the middle of it. I will try to find a photo of one for you to see.

If anybody knows where I can find one, please let me know. I have exhausted my contacts at that department. Nobody there has one that they are willing to sell. Thanks.

Dont know about La Verne, but have you ever seen the old Lynwood police department patch? Had lightning bolts on it!

Don't know if you have ever been to the Porky's police collectible show in Claremont, CA that they have every year? I think one of the main organizers is named "Gene" and he is some how related to West End Uniforms in Montclair, CA. Maybe google the store for the phone number, and try to get ahold of him? I used to work in Claremont, and I think most agencies in that area go to them for uniforms/patches...maybe he has one that you are looking for?

Smaller agencies generally don't have patches in stock at any uniform store. The collector guy might be your best bet.

I agree with leman 77. The next Porky's show will be in mid-January, 2012. Lots of old-style CA patches. Gene is no longer with West End and has sold off his collection.

Well, there's usually some good deals on patches on Ebay, but this one's up to $281.27

Of all the patches, that specific one happens to be thee one that is close to $300 while the ready are under $10? That must be some hot patch.

Why is that heart La Verne patch is such demand?

If that is the correct image, copy that image, and get a quote from one of the regular uniform stores to make it for you.

Very true. You can find an embroidery shop to do it. Uniform shops here won't do it unless it is an agency order though. There is always also the minimum pieces requirement. With this patch being in such demand though, you can make 100 pieces and sell them for profit.

Contact Will Berry, Burbank PD. He's the top collector is CA, publishes a book listing every patch with yearly updates. If he doesn't have it he'll know someone who does.
