Melatonin was mentioned earlier, I'll second that, and suggest something called "Alteril", it's melatonin, L-Tryptophan and valerian root all mixed together, so you get that nice "tired" feeling like you get after a big turkey/thanksgiving dinner (from the L-Tryptophan). What I like about it is that it's (for the most part) natural, and there's no after effects. All the other suggestions (diet, exercise, etc) are perfect, but if you HAVE to go with a sleep aid, I'd try the Alteril.

Supposedly a supplement called "ZMA" is supposed to help you get better sleep, and increase natural testosterone production if you're working out. Zinc, Magnesium, and I have no clue what the A is anymore. I've been taking it, don't know if it's a placebo or what, but I don't get the 5 pm wake up headache and I feel pretty rested. I have a hard time maintaining a good diet on Mids, so vitamins are key. Puts in what your body needs, and I don't get as groggy at 0400.

What helps me, albeit unhealthy, is chewing tobacco. Just something to keep me occupied on that last couple hours/drive home. Lotta guys get sunflower seeds too, same principle.

I don't know how you guys sleep 4 hours, get up and do stuff, then go back and nap. When I go out, I'm oooouut until I have to get up to go to the gym and straight to work. Worked a 21-07 last night, got one more tonight. And yes it's 1230, I'm totally screwed for tonight. Gotta love that late paper.
