    Something fun today

So on my way up to Colfax today I looked in my rear view mirror and noticed a CHP patrol car in the fast lane of I80-E moving in and out of traffic because drivers started hitting their brakes when they noticed he was behind them. Well being the nice guy I am I merged right and waved the Officer along on my left to let him get by. As he pulled up next to me he slowed to match my speed, smiles and mouthed a "Thank you" with a thumbs up just before he sped off and after a few seconds turned on his lights while speeding up.

Was nice to see a Police Officer with a good attitude, and appreciated me NOT impeding traffic or get in his way.

Keep up the good work you guys out there, and there are at least some of us that try to make your day just a little easier.

This is a common problem when you are trying to get somewhere quickly but 'non-code'. A lot of calls require a quick response but not with the use of lights and sirens. This creates a frustrating situation when everyone crawls in front of you to avoid being pulled over.

    Thanks for the assistance!

I usually travel at 72ish and have never once been pulled over. In fact have never been in a traffic stop... *Knocks on wood*. I never understood why people only go the speed limit near LEO's, not like they expect us all to never go over the speed limit. Letter of the law vs. spirit of the law?

Not me. I drive at the speed limit and will pull people over when one decides to blast by. I will ask on what planet did it seem like a good idea to blow by a marked police car at above the speed limit?

As we all know, it is called, "Black and White fever."

I was driving on Winchester Rd. in Murrieta/Temecula next to a Riverside deputy last week and evidently all 3 vehicles at the front of the 3 lanes knew he was there and they were driving less than the 55 speed limit parallel to each other. It wouldn't have made much difference if I let him go in front of me as those guys were too afraid. I could tell he was frustrated.
