Way way off topic but ehh

I was wondering who here has a 2008 vehicle or knows someone who has a 2008 vehicle and that vehicle has been having or had problems? Reason I ask is because 5 to 6 of my friends have had something in their car recently break that was an expensive fix. One of the more common parts breaking seems to be the AC unit. 2 of them had something in their front end also go wonky (<--- yes that's the technical term). All said and done, one had to spend about 4 grand to get their car fixed.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason either other than 2008 and I think 4 of them was an AC issue and maybe another.

This is just a curiosity thing with another motive behind it. I have a 2008 vehicle .... lol

Ohh yeah LEO's and non LEO's alike are welcome to respond obviously as this thread is not gonna require any special knowledge or insight.

I thought about posting this in the OT forum, but ehhh I just didn't want to for a number of reasons. If I get told to move it there, no problems

Work truck is an 07 chevy, with no problems. Not whatcha asked, but I figured I'd help confuse the issue.

Unless you're talking about the same Make or Model, its nothing but a freaky statistical occurrence.

I saw 4 spins of a 7 spin streak of 00 in a row at a roulette table in the Venetian a couple months ago...freaky stuff, maybe aliens are invading...

probably a statistical anomoly, but when just kinda freaking me out when I hear of 6 2008 vehicles breaking after warranty expires all in a short period of time. Mainly because I own a 2008 vehicle with a warranty thats about to go kaput

Google the make model and year and the issue with the vehicle. Blogs will pop up and people in the forums most likely had or have the issue you speak of. I've noticed that many vehicles seem to have an issue, like certain year of galants the radiator cracks in the same spot. Or on a 4 runner the antenna mast breaks always. Etc. Hope this helps.

Our 08 Expeditions at work have issues with the AC... But so have the 06's and 07's.

Don't know why. What does piss me off, is mechanics rely WAY too much on computer scanners now. Three trips to the dealer, transmissions, full exhaust, cats, and it ended up being what I said it was... A piece of foam was plugging the air box... I told them so many times it wasn't getting air...

            The basics people!!!!
