FAMS and thier issued firearms

anyone know what they are issued
im looking to joining FAMS in the near future and have no clue what thier issued firearm is, any help is greatly appreceated

'Federal Air Marshals carry the Sig Sauer P229 service pistol in a .357 SIG chambering and also carry a Baton. As noted above, Air Marshals must be re-certified on their firearm quarterly. According to an anonymous Air Marshal, they are trained to "shoot to stop", typically firing at the largest part of the body (the chest) and then the head to "incapacitate the nervous system".[13]

About 2 years ago there a news report about FAMS trying to leave the service in droves. They said many of the air marshals thought it was the most boring job in federal LE circles.

Flying routes back and forth, just sitting onban airplane for the next 20-30 years would be tough. It would be like ride a bus all the time all day long. Ouch!

Seriously look into their mission to ensure it would be right for you. Although in todays terrible job market, its still a "job.".

I work with two former AMs. They both have said Sig .357 or .40 is approved.
