    Ticketed by Sheriff 7.14.11.........

Men and Ladies of Law Enforcement,

First off I would like to thank all of you for the job you do putting your life on the line everyday. 7.14.2011 I was coming home on the 710 freeway and was pulled over by a Sheriff at about 5:30pm. I was cited.
The written appearence date is August 18,2011 8:00am, East Los Angeles Superior court. I lost my copy of the ticket, so I went to the LASC court site, punched in my DL number, DOB nothing comes up. I called the court and nothing, called the secretary that handles the traffic citations for the Sheriffs and again nothing.
I am starting to get worried because nothing is showing up, I want to do the right thing, but I never have a situation like this. The most it has taken me to receive a judicial summons is only about 2 weeks. So any advice opinions from the LEO folks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, to all of you and a heartfelt thanks for the work you do. A2

Contact the traffic secretary at East Los Angeles Sheriff's Station. If they can't find it, just show up at the courthouse on August 18th. The courts may have eliminated the mailed courtesy notice due to budget reasons. They were discussing that as a cost cutting measure before I retired.

Are you sure about the date? The court dates I used for my tickets (I didn't write very many, btw) were usually 2 months after the date of the violation - so if I wrote a traffic ticket on 7-14-11, the court date would be 9-14-11 or right around there...

Just in case though, if you do go to court on 8-18 (assuming you haven't already missed your date) and they still can't find any record, ask the clerk to give you some kind of stamped note showing that you were there at court on that date...
