our program began right around the time we were getting rid of positions. I heards it cost the dept a good chunk of change....the only purpose I see for it was for a certain LT to validate his/her position. What a waste of time/money. Glad to see others agree and its just not my salty selften-8Comment

Saves staff time that might be spent on thinking of rational department policy by substituting a cookie-cutter (but vetted by lawyers) pre-made set of policies.
No, I don't think it's a good idea, but apparently enough people do that Lexipol has made a business out of it.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

It is too cookie cutter... As I posted a month or so back, we are trying to change our firearms policy, allowing us to carry personal duty weapons (which BTW, we knocked the cover off the ball, just have to see if the boss man robs it at the wall!)... In the policy, we discovered several contradictions regarding several things...
Essentially, we can already carry personal weapons for duty, and the range master can make modifications, etc... But I'm not going to be the test goat to try it out!"Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest."~M.Twain~Comment
