Atlanta IHOP video

Not sure how old the video is. A girl is resisting arrest and her friend decides to get in the officers way by attempting to push him away via his neck and probably hit him before they started filming the incident. The officer in turn punched the young lady in attempt to subdue her because of the incident. She attempts to punch him back and hits the officer several times before she is taken into custody. I'm sick of hearing people on video claiming police brutality when the officer was
clearly assaulted. If people would stay calm and comply there would be no incidents like these. Personally I would have pepper sprayed everybody. Have y'all seen the video and what other measures
Could have been taken if any.

The vids up on YouTube are, so far, all apparently posted by cop haters. It happened within the last few days.

Like a lot of amateur vids, we are only seeing a limited amount of what was really happening. We don't get to see why the officers were there, why they were taking someone else into custody, etc. etc. etc. You get to see slow mo after slow mo of an officer giving her a couple of straight rights and a haymaker to the jaw. That is what will be the focus, just like it was in Seattle last year.

Why is this even an issue? She was clearly punching him and impeding him. If it was me, I might of whacked her with an ASP. I was never very good with people that disrespected me or the office I represented.

That was good force. Objectively reasonable all the way. That video will aid the officer rather than hurt him.

People think its worse because the Officer hit a female. More than reasonable use of force. When I first saw the video on lawofficer.com, you can hear the girl saying I'm sorry as she is getting handcuffed.

Female suspects can be the worst to control/apprehend. Not so much that male cops can't handle them, but more because of public perception when male cops have to use force+1 to effect control/arrest and the somewhat predictable female noise/drama that emit from the female suspect...unless its a female cop vs female suspect...then not so much.

I wasnt there but it would have been better if the cover cop was on that puncher the moment she impeded the primary cop before she even threw the first punch...that's what a good cover does.

Girl in the black dress is about as stupid as they come. Just went from uninvolved to a felony in a second.

All I know is that I saw or heard a lot of angry people in the restaurant and wonder that the officers were concerned that what should have been a simple matter could turn very ugly. If they didn't react immediately to the interfering girl in the black dress, who else might of stepped in and who is to say a young woman wouldn't suddenly pull a knife or make grab for the officer's gun.
