Bother to call this in? yes/no

@ 10:00pm in the parking lot of our apartment complex we notice a large unmarked box truck blocking the main lane of traffic through the lot.

As we leave to grab some food I am thinking that it's very odd for someone to be moving @ this late of night.

After we come back I see a late 20's ish mexican male quickly close the rear doors of the truck as I drive up with my headlights shining towards the back of the truck.

We have to drive over a curb to get past the truck & park.

As I am walking past after parking I say something to the effect of "kinda late to be moving eh?"

he pauses then states "yeah well that's what the customer wants"

I say, "oh yeah, what apt number is it?"

he says "oh I don't even know", then quickly turns and walks away...

Doesn't it seem odd that he wouldn't know what apartment number "the customer" is at?

also, this guy didn't look like he could lift a sofa if his life depended upon it...

I called it in to the non-emergency dispatch & the lady seemed annoyed as I gave her the details...

meh, probably nothing but it seemed odd.

Call it in as a suspicious vehicle.

Was your call taken as a complaint regarding the truck blocking the drive way and not a potential burglary?

Call in a suspicious vehicle. Tell them why it's suspicious to you. Provide the license plate description plus info on the associated person(s). If they don't come out then, at least they'll have something to work up when the resident discovers they been burglarized.

Nothing really suspicious about moving at night. Anytime I've ever moved, it's been late at night. I don't like my new neighbors to see what I have.

However, the fact that he didn't know the apartment number of the 'customer', coupled with the fact that he hurried away at the sign of any questions being asked of him, is quite suspicious to me. I'd say good move calling it in.

Call it in, always. We can't be everywhere, all the time. You did the right thing.

Call it in and give the plate and description of the vehicle. You're a citizen and you're concerned, you have every right to call.

I made it clear that I was concerned about the possibility of burglary.
