I have a Hawkepacks/LaRue Rifle bug out bag. Rifle mags, pistol mags and the rest is OPSEC.Comment

I used to have a load bearing vest from Blackhawk that was loaded with 4 Pmags, 2 spare handgun mags, quick cuffs (zip-ties), and medical.
I have since changed to a thigh rig for my left leg. It's a quick attach with basically the same items as my vest minus the quick cuffs. I have added a set of amplified hearing protectors to go over my ear piece."There's no way, no way you could have come from my loins! As soon as I get home, I'm gonna punch your momma in the mouth!" A Maxpedition Thermite bag with a coule of 30 round mags, 4 1911 mags, bottle of water, power bar, spare batteries, extra handcuff, monocular, and a few other odds and ends.
Pretty much enough to get me through most active shooters or sitting on a perimeter.
I might go with a chest rig but I probably would keep it on the thin side just because I probably won't need that much ammo or gear except for the biggest emergencies like Mumbai or Beslan. If those happen I need a bag with 50 more cops in it.Comment

Depends, I kept mine in a plain black duffel bag in the trunk. No one ever saw it when I took it in and out of my car. I'm sure you would get crap from the "salty dogs" that feel you need nothing more than a 6 shooter and two speed loaders because "its they way they have always done it" or "we don't need that active shooter training here, it'll never happen".
On a side note, many departments are now going to Load Vests for daily patrol and getting away from duty belts to reduce back injuries. Also if you are working an active shooter and someone gives you a hard time for your vest, they are paying attention to the wrong things."There's no way, no way you could have come from my loins! This tends to be your answer for many a post. It's like you're pleading the 5th, haha. I'm gonna start calling you Sgt. 5A.
Eh, don't take it personal. He does that alot. I understand. I bet if you PM'ed him and asked really nice he'd tell you.sigpic

He is an anti-gun guy and he said. "Well, you can't eat ammunition". I replied with "When I'm starving to death with a case of ammunition, who's door do you think I am going to knock on?"Comment

I'm with yzernie - IMO, most people don't "need to know". If I know you're LE, I would have no problems sharing all the details of my different load outs. I will say that my active shooter rig contains a BUNCH of 556/223 and some extra 9mm ammo, a couple of IFAKs and quick clots, a little food/water, and a hat, among other things...Comment
