Poor Mumia's plight has been going on for many years. He's gotten support from a number of Hollywood's finest. There is a list of his supporters somewhere. The typical bunch.

When I found out Paul Newman (Newman's Own)and Ben and Jerry(Ben and Jerry's ice cream) were on the list, I refused to purchase their products. This was many years ago and I maintain the boycott to this day.

No surprise here that Teachers support this scum Cop killer.
Mumia Abu-Jamal was found guilty and my only hope is the death sentence is carried out sooner than later for this piece of garbage.

I found a list here from FOP:

I found a web site dedicated to Officer Daniel Faulkner. For the other side of the Mumia story:http://www.danielfaulkner.com/

Wonder if this a decision from the rank and file or some idiot at the top?

Teachers have me raising my eyebrows lately.

Me also. In checking the list, I wasn't surprised to see Angela Davis, Mike Farrell and Danny Glover names on that list.

Add Ed Asner and many, many others to his list of supporters. What is perhaps most surprising is how long it took the California Federation of Teachers to get around to getting behind Mumia. There've been many postering campaigns in San Francisco over the years to "Free Mumia".

I've seen Officer Faulkner's widow interviewed and her side of the story is harrowing in and of itself. I've read on the case extensively. Dude is guilty... no real question about it based on the evidence presented. The claims that he was railroaded (while always a distinct possibility in Philadelphia) are just that ... claims.

Rot in prison for the rest of his life or meet Mr. Needle. Either one is justice served, far as I am concerned.

He was tried and found guilty. I wonder what other evidence is there to be analyzed. I believe in a fair justice for everyone, but sometimes I think it goes too far.

Teachers have lost a lot of respect from me. Sad a PR campaign can have such a negative effect on an intelligent group.

Unfortunately, being a teacher nowadays does not guarantee intelligence.

They didn't have the foresight to assume this would not set well with the LE community or the just don't give a ####?

Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Do you think they really give a flying rip how LE feels? Heck, the LE union leadership sometimes doesn't even give a rip how the members feel.

You guys need to keep in mind that not every single California teacher is involved with such a movement.

The over generalized "I am dissapointed with teachers" attitude is no different than the wide spread anti-LEO ignorance. Not all cops are ignorant fools. The same goes for educators. Come on now. One of my best friends is LEO and we frequently talk about the parallels while being involved in public service and and having everyone blame "you."

The vast majority of teachers just want to do a good job and live their lives. It's the active ones who get all crazy like the ones at the Wisconsin capitol that makes them look bad.

There are many parallels in the union world, but at least you don't see LEO's acting stupidly like those teachers on TV.

Hey, maybe the Pretender-In-Chief can have a beer summit with some teachers?

Yes we do. There are idiots/wackjobs in all walks of life regardless of the profession, which is my point.....don't judge every one cause of a few asses. I think both of my moms brother's and my friend are great LEO's, but I have had my fair share of those that are idiots. I do not cast the stone at all of them though. That wouldn't be right. I've seen ****ty mechanics, and great ones, etc.

Just 'cause someone passed the academy, or a teaching credentialing program, or (insert anything else) doesn't mean they are honorable/fit/good for the job. But we still don't judge them all based on a few asses.
