Does restricted magazine capacity make you feel safer?

This is addressing you California LEOs. Does the CA law of 10 rounds per magazine make you feel safer when performing your job duties? Simple question, but think about it.

The ammo in the 10 round magazine is as deadly as ones in 20 or 30 round magazines. 10 rounds in the hands of a trained shooter can mean 10 dead bodies. But then, I have been to a crime scene where a person shot about 30 rounds from an AK with no hits. So, you figure that out.

There were many 10+ magazines in CA before 2000, all still legal to have and use. LEO who leave agencies may keep their personally owned 10+ magazines acquired since 2000.

Even if the law lasts long enough to allow all those to 'wear out', and no one rebuilds them - which is legal - people who would get firearms illegally will not shrink from getting magazines illegally.

So the likelihood of officers encountering large-capacity magazines is not much changed by the law.

Ya know, I don't think I have ever pulled a gun from a "prohibited person" that had a "non-banned" magazine in it.

The last shooting I got stuck on as the primary paper writer, there were over 60 7.62x39 casings that were found too. Granted nobody could say how many shooters there were ..... so there is that. But I made my assumptions.

I'd say that around 70% of the guns I've found during the course of my work had 10+ round mags.

I don't understand how a gun holding only ten rounds would make you safer then a person threatening you with a gun holding 15 rounds.

It is a simple question with a simple answer , NO. I don't feel any safer.

Plus gangsters and people who are trying to harm others dont use bullet buttons and dont follow the laws in general even about not having only 10rd mags

No way. As already stated, it only hamstrings the law-abiding public. The person who can proficiently manipulate any weapon through its paces, including smooth immediate action "problem-solving", is a person to be respected, and these people don't need a high round count to get the job done.

For the most part, the people who comply with this law are not the people you usually have to worrying about. Once a felon decides to carry a gun (for whatever reason), we know he didn't buy it at Turners, Big5, etc. and he is probably carrying whatever he can steal or buy off the street. At that point he really doesn't care whether or not he is complying with the 10 round magazine capacity law.

It wouldn't matter if the criminals had high cap mags anyways..... they shoot limp wristed sideways gangster style. Most of them end up having a malfunction after popping off 3-4 shots.

What I'm more worried about are the disgruntled angry at the world gun nut type with some underlying mental illness that is just waiting to snap and go on a shooting spree.

Criminals would just get 10+mags anyway so only someone delusional would think it'd make things safer.
