Training Magpul Vickers

Anyone here ever been to MAgpul Dynamics Rifle/pistol training or Vickers tactical training?

Wondering how the experience was! I'm considering a life change which includes hardcore physical fitness and high dynamic military/LE training.

Haven't been to one of those yet but I recommend since you are just starting out is to go to one of the regional training courses. One big advantage from some of these small business training courses is that some instructors are LEO or SF type folks and have access to special classes taught by folks like Magpul or LAV. So there is a good chance these smaller training course may share some of those techniques/drills with you. Besides I believe big name courses like LAV and Magpul may require some advanced training before you can signup with them. For instance say a regional training school offers a Carbine/Pistol course in level 2 or 3 but on a more nationally recognized school may consider that level of skill as a Level 1.

Partner of mine recently attended a couple of training courses from Falcon Security - had VERY good things to say about the instructors and the training... I'm hoping to go in the near future...

Many of the instructors come with attractive credentials. When an instructor intros himself as a Delta Force Operator, SEAL, Army Ranger (Spec Ops) with time in battle or across the globe for covert ops,,,Then they have my instant attention and respect! I want to learn from those guys! Larry Vickers is one of them! He cam to our Sheriff's Range not long ago and everyone was overly impressed!

I bet. Seriously ARF may have a beef with LAV but you gotta give LAV some respect. I hopefully someday be able to take one of his classes.

I attend classes by LAV and Hackathorn. I'd highly recommend either. Best training I ever had.

I believe in getting all the quality training I can stuff into my budget and brain. I keep more tools from some courses than from others. I even value several awful experiences as they have made me aware of what not to do as an instructor and shown some bad tactics too.

Specifically, if LAV, Hackathorn, Magpul or other names come to your area with a course that meets your needs/budget, go for it! But don't pass on other opportunities in hopes of something coming up and you getting in.

If you are in the SoCal area, there are outstanding local schools depending on your needs. Scotty Reitz at ITTS is high on many lists, Max Joseph's TFTT has a bit more 'military flavor' in many courses, as well as others. Just depends on your current level and future needs.

I've been to three Magpul Dynamics courses (Dynamic Carbine II, HVWM, and Dynamic Shooter Aid) and I really recommend them. Chris, Travis and Kerry are excellent instructors and keep the calls interesting, moving and challenging.

I have also been to magpul LEO hyper violent weapon manipulation (carbine/pistol), dynamic shooter aid2, ITTS carbine/pistol. These are some ofthe best training I have EVER taken... The magpul classes have always been outstanding.
