    Date issues

I had a question for some of the LEO's on this forum

I received a ticket from a city in the inland empire a while back, I was starting to wonder what happened because I had yet to receive anything in the mail
so I call the city and they say "aww ya we sent that off to the court ages ago"
So I then call the court, they can not even find me anywhere in the system
The Court tells me to call the city and talk to them, well they find the ticket in a pile of reject tickets on some persons desk

The issue was that the officer wrote that my day to appear in court on This sunday March 27th

So I then ask to speak to the watch commander and he tells me sorry kid mistakes are made

Umm ya sure they are made but something as simple as a date and this person is giving notices of extortion to people I have a real issue with

I was thinking of doing trial by declaration because the court is too far of a drive from where I live
Any suggestion for what I should do next?
My driving record is perfect currently?

Ticket was for Rolling a stop sign, no front license plate and tinted front windows
I do know that the later two are fixit tickets and I get a CHP to sign off on free of charge

    Thank you for your help

The error is a "non-Issue" and is easily ammended. Some courts do not do trial by declaration, you will have to check with the court of jurisdiction.

Let's see, you failed to come to a stop at a stop sign, did not have the two license plates required by the California Vehicle Code, and had an illegal tinting substance intentionally applied to your windows, and you equate that to a "Notice of Extortion" in the Law Enforcement Forum. You are treading a thin line on the tact and diplomacy front.

Lol, "notice of extortion", and asking for help.

On other news, congrats to Ron-Solo on the retirement! Enjoy the time off my friend!

Please do not come into the leo forum and complain about leos, claims of extortion, or the govt. in general. If you have not read the rules for this specialty forum located in the sticky near the top, please do so.

If you have a civil question, please ask. As far as what to do next; show up for court on the corrected date. If you want to do a trial by declaration, that is your decision if the court allows it. If you are asking the leos here how to fight a ticket, please do not. There are other forums here, like the OT forum, to do that.

        Thank you for your cooperation.
