So here is what I do not understand maybe someone on here can shed some light on the subject for me. I went for an interview today for a security position the employer said he would hire me as soon as i completed all my courses including my firearms course so i can carry. I told him I couldn't carry because i am not 21, so i can't buy a handgun. He told me that i could carry as long as i am at work or going to and from work and i am in uniform and have my permit on me. I thought it was a little fishy so i got home and called another place an actual training company and they said the same thing. Now can someone tell me how am i supposed to carry a handgun for work if i can not purchase one? Doesn't something seem wrong here. Just looking for some in put on the subject

You can't purchase a handgun until you are 21, but you can own and possess a handgun as long as you are 18. Is the company going to issue you a handgun, or are they expecting you to provide your own?

I love how i cant join the military and use an M4 all day long at the ripe age of 18 but yet still cant drink or buy handguns.Originally posted by ibanezfooFallout isn't just a game, its for training.

Federal and CA laws = Minimum age to legally own/possess a handgun is 18.
Federal and CA laws = Minimum age a FFL dealer can transfer a firearm (other than a rifle or shotgun) is 21.
CA laws = Intra-familial gift of a handgun to a person 18-20 is legal.
CA laws = Minimum age to obtain a gun card from BSIS is 18.
So, a person 18-20 years of age can legally obtain a guard card & gun card from BSIS and work as an armed uniformed security guard.
That 18-20 year old person can either obtain a handgun from his/her grandparent/parent via intra-familial gift or be issued a handgun from his/her employer.sigpic
