Fire fighter/EMT discount?

So I have been hearing a lot about LEO discounts. I have been told that fire fighters fall under the Homeland Security LEO discounts which a lot of companies such as Glock give out. Concerning that topic, since I am "LEO" according to some companies, would I be allowed to purchase a Glock 17 GEN 4?
I have been told you have to be a sworn officer, and others told me my fire/medic license will do. I would like to be a combat medic through the fire department (Not sworn officer) so I am looking for a good reliable sidearm.

You do qualify for Glock blue label, however not Gen4 but however you can buy Gen3 Starting at $425.00

ProForce in Brea also sells to Fire/EMS, but you are still restriced to guns that are on the CA Roster. You must be sworn LE to qualify for that exemption. My Paramedic son bought his Glock 19 from them.

You are not exempt from the roster unless your ID has the two special words "Peace Officer". I think you are confused. Glock doesnt consider firefighters as LEO. They offer discount to leo, military, fire fighter, etc...

I was a flight medic. We did not have sidearms. I did fly on calls with US ARMY MAST medics and they did have sidearms but were not fire dept. related. Are you saying you are in the ARMY reserves as a flight medic?

LASD has paramedics assigned to their SWAT teams, but they are all deputy sheriffs and are part of our Emergency Services Detail. They go on every SWAT call out and they provide paramedics in the LA County Mountain areas and the Sheriff's Air Rescue unit.

The big green and gold H3 that often makes the news. Some amazing pilots. I've had the pleasure to fly with many of them over the years.

They provided support during Katrina and transported Michael Jackson's body from the hospital to the coroner's office due to the media frenzy.

Several northern valley agencies have fire medics involved with their SWAT operations. They are armed. Most notably is Sac Metro Fire/Sac Co SO.

I know many agencies have sworn officers and deputies that are also paramedics but this guy is talking about being a combat medic with the fire department and needing a sidearm. Completely different from what SEB has going on. I've never heard of that...at least in California anyway.

I think he means "tactical medic". Our department provided medics for our SWAT team starting in 1991. All are required PC832 as a minimum.
