    Question Bad Accident Report

How do I ask the deputy that was called out to do an accident report and only did a collision information to do a more thorough report. I got rearended and told him of some problems I was experiencing and I would go to my regular doctor's urgent care, as I did. I told him I was very confused and was having headache, nasuea and neckpain and some problems that might be related to a cardiology condition. I also told him that some of the problems may be related to a couple of really bad cervical discs.

On the paper he gave me that I only read whenn I got back fron the doctor he wrote scratch to rear bumper. It is much more than a scratch and it goes across the entire bumper. My concern is that the person who hit me will try to later claim I was making a lane change,w hen I was stopped behing a car stopped for a red, and that the damage that needs to be repaired was inflcited after the accident.

I do not want to make things difficult for the deputy, but I would like him to do a reguolar traffic collission report, correct the extent of the damage, and report what he other driver said to him at the scene. I wish I had caught this at the scene, but I was pretty shaken up at the time and for a couple of hours later.

    Thanks.

Try contacting that deputy (or his/her traffic office) at work and express your concerns...

Thanks both of you. Another Deputy came to the house as the first was off duty, saw my concern, and took photos to have the the first deputy, the one that was at the scene, include in a report. Not only was the guy polite, as was the other who was swamped with calls, we had a great time talking about common interests. (I was once a Harley Mechanic working on police bikes plus we had some other interests in common lilke Remington 870s). I think the problem is taken care of and he agreed there was a problem. That BMW he was riding was sweet and he loved showing it off to someone that could appreciate it.

Is the OP planning on making an injury claim to his insurance? If so, as part of that claim, the insurer will request the report, which should include some manner of narrative page. That wouldn't be included with the short form copy you get from the officer on scene.
