Looks to me like the RCB is nothing more than a reinvention of the wheel. Where is the innovation in this product? A twist release or a button release is by far preferred by actual street cops. The days of banging it on the ground to close are over in my book.

Nothing really "innovative". The RCB (wilmoth/winchester) baton is heavier and arguably sturdier than other expandable straight batons...

If RCB would go back to including a free baton with their instructor courses, I'd be happy to add their certification to my resume.

Having used the RCB, Monadnock with a push button and an ASP in use of force situations, I won't use anything other than an RCB from now on. Its worth the banging it on the ground to get it closed.

I am a poster boy for this baton only because of how effective it has been (for me.)

Although I have not carried an RCB, I have carried hickory, expandable PR's and various forms of the ASP style batons. The ASP is by far my least favorite and least effective in a use of force deployment.

Now having said that, if they training dept. wanted to send me to a school on their dime, I would not turn it down.
