MOS doesn't matter. MP does not help, believe it or not. Military policing does not translate over and you have to go through the academy again anyway. It doesn't give you a leg up on other recruits and as a fresh boot out of the academy, it makes no difference that you were a MP. You have to earn your way up and learn civilian policing. Not to say that the experience won't help but it doesn't get you any points or move you faster through FTO as everyone has to go through it and learn the same job, from the fresh out of college kid to an experienced MP.
You would be better served to have EMT or Corpsman training which can become more valuable in the field.
Either way, the discipline and leadership of being in the military helps, but don't worry about the specific MOS as long as you have a good career and honorable discharge.
