Sure I should believe your BS about cutting department abuses.
You thread stalking me? Nobody has a right to a ride-along or get hired. Departments have all the discretion in the world to limit ride-alongs or hire who they want.

If someone displays that immature attitude, then the department can use it as a consideration in hiring. Would you have a rule that limits what lawful factors a department can use in considering someone's fitness to be hired?

Stop with the cop bashing and face reality for once.

Look up the definition of whistleblower first and then talk. There is no protection for immaturity or ignorance. You can hate all you want. Truth is, if cops are violating the law, bring it up to the appropriate agencies or shut up. You remaining silent except on an anonymous forum does nobody any good.

            Feeling big now?

Look who is all puffed up and butthurt. I told you of some the poor treatment i've suffered and you just want me to shut up, or submit myself to further abuse by coming forward. You know that those things that happened to me happen everyday to thousands of victims. Be honest with us here you are annon.

Just admit what can be read in any of the LEO posters words, Joe Citizen is sh-t , and Steroid team is above the law.

              Skunk here's a decent answer.

Well seeing your in San Diego.

I have applied for a Ride-A-Long with the SDSD (Yes the OFFICIAL abbreviation for the San Diego County Sheriff's - SDSD) myself (For the IMB/70 Station). SDSD is one of the thriving departments in the county.

I faxed my application to the LT. Got a call a few days later stating he needed to revamp the protocols for Ride-A-Long's and try back in a month or two.

So I've been talking to a Deputy I know and he stated that the Sheriff's Department as a whole is only allowing Ride-A-Long's for those who are already in the application process. IE going threw their BI etc.

If you want to PM me, I might be able to tell you why and what Departments that are allowing Ride-A-Long's that are not in the application process.

Just a reminder the SDSD is not opening application till Feb 11th 2011. Only Laterals will be considered.

Seriously? You sir, are sadly misinformed. Ask the deputy at my station who was just terminated for criminal misconduct if he is above the law. If you have a problem with an agency or its employee(s) then step up and report it...or sit quietly.

I already told you the State DOJ and the FBI are very interested in this but apparently when push comes to shove, you rather sit back and take it while lashing out at us online. So I guess you just have to sit back and suck it up.

OP, I dont think any LEOs (including myself) were offended by your post.

If LE is what you really want to get into, get your degree and maybe try and apply as a cadet, CSO, or even a reserve somewhere (of course you would have to go to an academy first). Those are pretty good ways to get your foot in the door.

Don't mean to thread jack, Just a little observation. What degree's would help and here in SD County CSO's need 2 years experience (I know its odd at even a CSO for that)....

Also if it wouldn't hurt to get a strait forward answer on becoming a reserve per CA. PC/POST.

As myself wouldn't mind working as a reserve needed to gain experience.

Maybe a employment guide could be made to satisfy topics like this and mine?

What would you like to know about reserves? I spent enough time as one before going full-time. You might also want to look up CRPOA (California Reserve Peace Officer's Association). They are sorta like the union for reserves but not really since reserves usually have no employment rights)

I never that a California Reserve Peace Officer Association existed

This helps with the reserve searching.
