I know rifles and shotguns aren't technically "registered" per se, but we still do the 4473 and DOJ record of sale, which aren't supposed to be sent to the state... but I'll tell ya... I've seen some AFS printouts that did contain long arm information and I know the owners did not do voluntary registrations, heck, I'll bet most people don't even know about the voluntary registration process.
