LEOs that carry a 1911

I believe that Sebastopol PD also authorizes 1911s.

What I would like to know is what ammo do you prefer for your duty 1911.

My department issued ammo in the 45 acp is a Federal HST 230 gr. +P, but you can purchased your own department approved ammo from Winchester, Remington, and Speers gold dot and nothing else. We also issue Federal HST in 38 +P+, 9mm, and 40 S&W.

nice, I only ask because I have herd that some 1911s only like ball ammo and tent to not feed HPs

Richmond PD has a lot of Officers that carry 1911's, and they love that but I was talking with a couple guys who say that might change, I also remember another guy telling me that you have to take a course and qualify on the 1911 to carry it.
