If we want to see an officer recognized for outstanding service, and exemplary professionalism?

We all know how to complain about a bad stop, but how do we see to it that an officer who makes a textbook perfect stop gets recognition and held up as an example?

I think, come monday, we should be making phone calls to the superver of this fine officer to make sure that he is held up as an example of EXACTLY what a good, professional, courteous officer looks like.

We would be jumping down this guys throat if he had screwed up, I think we need to put forth the same effort with a TEXTBOOK pefrect unloaded check....

You can call, but that may not get in his packet like a letter will.

While I am willing to send a letter, to encourage as many as possible to participate I would also like to make the phone number and email address available and easy to use.

Better a phone call that gets made than a letter that never gets written.

I just watched the video and all legalities aside, Officer Lions performed the stop perfectly. And while I don't much care for the gentleman's attitude at certain points, I commend Lions for staying polite, professional, and serious but easy going. Makes me want to write a letter. What the hell, I think I will.

You know it's funny how we all perceive things. The stop was almost perfect. Officer Lions did an excellent job except for taking the knife and performing the leg search IMO as there was no RAS or PC for that. I heard no attitude from the OCer and thought he was polite yet firm in asserting his rights.

Letters from internet people wont matter. The one and only letter that means anything is the one from the OP.

Police are people; some are good; some are bad. Unfortunately for the good ones, it is the bad ones that often get remembered.
