    Settle an arguement.....

So at coffee, two guys get into a "mine is better" match over carrying a G21 and a G22. G21 calls the G22 a pansy for taking a 22.

G21 guy said he will only carry a .45 because it's tried and true and puts the bad guy down in one shot. Bigger hole= better threat elimination.

G22 guy says BS, shot placement is key and ballistics are similar with both weapons.

What do you carry any why?

Given the choice of which Glock to carry I'd say a G17.

Your discussions on 45 vs 40 vs 9 are irrelevant and academic. There are a number of rounds that are 9x19 that have enough ballistic performance that the bad guy will not laugh at you when hit.

      17 rd vs 15rd vs 13 ? I'll take 17 any day.

Shot placement. 2 in the chest and one in the head. I carry a 45 so the two issues compliment each other.

Tell your buddies to shoot at each other and see what works. It's really a lame disagreement.

I know it is and I didn't want to get involved with it. The .45 guy is about 5 years from retirement and the G22 guy has about 3 years on. It's more of a new school v. old school thing and there was a little finger pointing going on.

We are allowed to carry either and it seemed like the old guy was calling the young buck a pu..... for not manning up and getting a 45.

There is no such thing as magic caliber that gets the job done. The user should use whatever caliber that works for him or her the best. If person thinks 45acp is the best, but he or she cannot use that caliber properly than it is useless. I prefer 9mm for myself because more ammo and easier follow up shots.

9mm Shot placement is key! I rather have more rounds. A 9mm with a round in the chamber is much better then an empty 45ACP

45ACP is good on flesh but does not penetrate cars very well!

I've carried .38, .38+P, 9, .40 and .45 at department behest over the years. They all will work just fine for the intended purpose assuming the user does their part properly. Aside from that, the 9mm round has probably killed more people around the world since it's introduction than just about any other pistol round I can think of.

If it's left up to my discretion, it's .45. But I'll use whatever I have at hand if I have to and not quibble over it's effectivity.

As everyone already stated it depends on what the shooter is comfortable shooting.

                          I personally like the .40 cal round. I own a G22, 23 and 27 as well as a 19.

For me I never got into shooting .45 and can't remember that last time I shot one.

I also beleive .40 is a lot less expensive than .45 right now.

Actually, .22cal (NOT including .223/5.56) has killed more people than any other round made.
