Ride-Along

Are there still such things as Ride-Alongs? Especially here in the Bay Area?

I've been seriously considering becoming a Reserve Officer, but would like to
get a little bit better of a feel for some of the daily stops and what some of the techniques employed by Peace Officers these days.

Any LEO comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.

my dept does them. and a friend of mine did one with the local SO. google the dept, most have websites. find a number for public affairs or some liaison like that. use common sense here, dont call the chief. listen to the officer/deputy and watch everything he does. ask questions, have some smart ones in your head befor you get there. present yourself profesionally. show up in reasonable attire. no suits, no cut offs, no cammies. be punctual
