I'd appreciate any thoughts on this by LEO

I made this video (short, I swear) based upon my experiences and observations. I was trying hard to make sure that it did not come across as ant-LE, but I want to be certain that your perception is the same. Thanks in advance for any criticism offered.

Not bad. I don't consider it anti police. You said you had a response time of 20 seconds to your house. If true this would be outstanding but very unrealistic!
On the 911 line this frequently happens. Compound this with non emergency calls coming in on the 911 line also.

Overall kind of basic information that most people are already aware of, thus it is important that you are ready to handle basic self defense needs until the police or sheriffs arrive. Likewise basic first aid training is advisable and a plan for emergencies till help arrives!

you lied...a 5 min clip isn't short. anything over 1 min is long, but i really enjoyed it and thought you spoke very well...making very accurate observations. I didn't think it was anti-LE at all. I always told home owners the same thing.

I think the quickest response I've ever had to a Priorty 0 call was 3 mins...and that was after I received the call

        I also didn't take it as anti-LE.

If it took 60 seconds to get from calltaker, to dispatcher to me...that would be awesome.

          Presented well sir.

I liked it. I also saw no anti-LEO bias in in either.

Our dispatchers will hit us up over our secondary channel and tell us to start heading towards so and so for a robbery, burglary, etc coming out to save time while they finish getting info from the informant.

Spot on... agree 100%. I also agree that there is nothing that I would interpret as anti-LEO in the presentation. If anything it is an exceptionally well spoken insight from a layman's perspective of the nuts and bolts of operations.

I worked in some smaller towns where we could be anyplace in five minutes or less. I also worked in more rural settings where response times could be 15-25 minutes, or more, Code 3. Both of those are from time of dispatch to arrival and don't include the phone handle time in dispatch. Even in large metro areas it can take extended periods for LEOs to arrive on scene.

Your moral... be prepared to be on your own in any emergency, is 100% valid. The farther "out of town" one chooses to live, then one needs to be that much more prepared.

I'm not LEO, but I didn't think it came across as anti-LEO at all. Good points, I agree with it all.

You are in Humboldt County, aren't you! I'd recognize that sky along with those trees anywhere. I love that place, I grew up there. I might try to buy a house there many years from now.

Very realistic, factual and honest information regarding the topic. Sadly, we can't be everywhere at the same time.
