LEO on YouTube... Video and discussion thread.

First off I hope this doesn't get deleted. It is not my aim to portray officers in a bad light. I am not bias; Ok maybe a little in the officers favor.
Anyway I hope we are all adult enough to talk about these videos in a civil manner.

    .

I thought this one was kinda funny but also sad to see the bias against officers who are in the right IMO.
Favorite part is the guy saying something to the effect of, 'They didn't have to slam her. I know she had a knife but they didn't have to slam her'
What a dork. I see zero excessive force from where I'm sitting.

I have a lot to say but I'll simply say a couple things, from what I see there on the video the officer could have had justification to engage lethal force but chose not to take that route. I'm not convinced I would try to manually disarm someone with a knife but I was not there. I do know that some of those folks that came rushing in on the officers would have been taken into custody also.

This is a classic example that no matter what course of action we take, someone is always there to second guess the decision.

Right or wrong it's hard on the eyes. White haired lady with a kane in one hand and a knife in the other. Just what I hate about video snippets...no clue what the original call was...did she stab someone? Did she threaten to stab someone? was she just suffering from dimentia? Too many questions...yeah she had a knife...could the officer have given a little more effort in getting the woman to lay down the knife? Maybe...I don't know. Video shows a short time span between arrival and contact...Did the officer do the right thing and move quickly to control the weapon? Maybe...I don't know. Did she have to do a take down? Maybe...I don't know.

I do know video clips suck...and in most instances only serve to incite anti-LE sentiment. I don't think it's ever really funny to watch an elderly person taken to the ground, even if it's justified.

I'm with you on that one. IIRC you may observe an officer performing their duties at a reasonable distance which is further defined as 10 feet.

I feel bad for the suspect and the officer. Somebody needs to watch where they're going.

It's like they're all cockroaches and the officer is a light switch.

Ok I know it's fake but it's hilarious.

This officer needs some CQC training badly.

Or pull out the baton and get to whackin'.
It's sad to see him just take it.
