I have done it when there is nothing going on at all. But I have found by the time they see me it's already been cranked down.

I got a ticket one day because the guy next to me was pushing 2,000db. He turned right, I went straight. I had my system on but it was barely noticeable outside the car. Passed an LASD unit who was turning left opposite side of the light, he heard me as I went by, flipped a U, and ticketed me. It wasn't until I was halfway home that I realized it was the OTHER guy he had heard from across the intersection. Yay.

It's a pet peeve of mine - I don't like it either. The last one I ticketed for talked himself into getting the ticket. He then turned around and filed a racial profiling complaint against me.

Have done it before but due to lack of available units to answer calls and overwhelming calls for service, making a vehicle stop ruins it for my beat partners, plus I wish I could write the guy across the street from my house one since he has no respect for anyone or the elderly neighbors to his left....all this in his chromed out, lifted Expedition that only sees dirt when the wind blows dust on his crap SUV.

Why can you not write up the guy across the street from you when he is disturbing the peace with his vehicles sound system? I am just asking, I am not a LEO and I do not know the legal nuance's of the situation.

I'm not going to bring a ticket book home, walk across the street in my civilian clothes, ID myself as a LEO and write him a ticket.
