    Catch 22

I need from all the LEO here, I have my vehicle that my ex girlfriend had got a ticket in Oakland for no licenses plate in my car however when CHP issued the ticket instead of the usual to driver it went to me owner of vehicle. I been trying to register this vehicle the last 3 months DMV is paid and everything but Oakland Court is requiring that it must be signed off before they can release the abstract for my reg and drivers license. My problem is now how can I get the ticket signed off? I asked a local Stockton PD officer that was near my house one day and he said that they do not sign off anything over 30 days? and i cant drive this vehicle anywhere so what am I to do drive all the way to Oakland with expired tags?

Not a leo, but you should be able to get a 1 day permit from the DMV.

Are the plates now on your car? If so, I would take it to some other PD or SO station to have it signed off... I've never heard of a 30 day limit for signing off - IMO, fixed is fixed...

Oops, I just read that your reg is expired. Were you written for 5200(a) or 4000(a)(1)? You wrote that you paid all DMV fees - what is keeping you from making your registration current?

The reg has always been paid just that i was a little late on putting my plates on i had the dealer plate on it. it was a brand new Acura RL so i was in no hurry but the plates "were" on my car till no one wants to sign it off i had to take them off cause we have those little city ordenanace cititation officers driving around giving tickets for expired tags
