Kudos to san berdoo sherriff deputy

We had a break in to our weekend cabin in the desert. The deputy had excellent people skills. Very courteous.
He spent a couple hours there documenting the crime scene. I was impressed for such a low priority crime.

You should call his station and tell the watch commander.

^^^This. People are quick to call to complain, but do not often call when they do something good. If you call, he might get an atta boy. If you were to write a letter, it will be included in his evaluation and his file.

This may sound sillly, but I have even called a business to compliment a driver when I've seen one of those bumper stickers. Most call to complain, I figured a compliment would be appreciated.

I called the station and got the email address and sent a note.

I was told the note will be seen by the Watch Commanders.

If you have the time and motivation, write a letter to the Sheriff commending the deputy. When promotion or IA time comes, positive letters from citizens help. A phone call, if not documented, will soon be forgotten...the letter stays.

Per our PMs, When I go in tonight I'll ensure the deputy's Watch Commander is advised for this positive experience.

As was said, we rarely hear of the good job/things we do and when someone such as yourself is compelled to acknowledge the job done it really bolsters the relationships we have with our communities. For that I say Thank You!!

Write a small note and send it to the Sheriff. Big props will come down the pipe. They like seeing stuff like that because most people are thankless.

Sorry to hear about the break in, but thank you for taking the time to give good feedback for the deputy who responded.

x2. You are doing the right thing by taking a minute to commend the officer.

I forwarded the info directly to his Watch Commander for you via department e-mail. I also included the link to this thread and a synopsis of our PMs. His Sergeant is pleased!!
