    Sig P226 20 Round Mags....

...and how to find a closed top nylon double mag pouch for a sam brown.

I've got a 226 Blackwater Tactical and I'd like to carry the 20 round mags on the SB-- but they don't fit-- which surprises me because my current mag pouches are for an HK USP .45 mags which are pretty large.

Anyone have this problem and solve it?

Ya know, I sell a ton of the SCTs with the 20rd mags to LEOs and I've never even asked about the mag pouches. I can't remember the name of the company right now but there is a place (I think in SoCal) that makes custom mag pouches. Maybe someone else here knows the place I'm talking about. Have you checked with Safariland? They are usually pretty up to date on holsters and mag pouches.

I looked at Safariland website but didn't see anything listed....

If there's nothing off the shelf -- I was thinking about having Jones Tactical do it since I know they do excellent work. Just thought I'd hear what other have done since I know more and more are finding their way to the field.

      Thanks-!

Have you tried Bladetech? They have open top pouches with adjustable tension.

Thanks for the idea-- but open top is not authorized.

Mines in jail too. Gets sprung in about a week but I still need to take a department class to get qualified to carry. The class in late July was full and had 17 on the waiting list so its going to be a minute before I can actually carry it.

Try Tex Shoemaker in San Dimas (if they're still there).

There is a company in the LA area called S.O. Tech that makes some special nylon gear.

Also try All State Police Equipment in Pomona. Keith has a lot of specialty stuff and good pricing

There's got to be a few saddle makers down that way. Try them. I have a buddy who was a skip tracer and is very large 7'1" around 375 and he had a custom shoulder set up made for him. Try that route.

I'll let ya know how it turns out!

Just as a follow up-- Jones turned me onto the Tactical Tailor mag pouches as an off the shelf alternative. I ordered them and will advise how they work.

Will they let you wear the Bianchi gear that looks like basketweave? I can't tell the difference in feel between it, and my old nylon gear.

I must agree-- its a nice perk.

They also opened up our approved firearms list a bit allowing Sig 226, 229, and 220's and the SW MP in 9mm. Still no deputy owned AR's tho...

I just found some nylon magazine pouches similar to Bianchi's Accumold line. These fit the P226R 20rounders perfectly. The manufacturer is "TUFF" and Adamson's Los Alamitos carries them. Will start to use them tomorrow and see how they work out.
