AW Flow Chart

Are there any LEOs out there who have the AW Flow Chart posted in their Duty Room?

How did it get there? Did a Calgunner bring it to the attention of the Department or did a Supervisor bring it in?

Generally, how is it received? Is it viewed as helpful in untangling California's byzantine gun laws? Could you relate some commentary?

I'd really be interested in the reactions to the Flow Chart. I think, as Calgunners, that we can do more to reach out to LEOs.

I didn't post it in the briefing room but I have done several briefing trainings on the subject. I have made copies available to anyone who asks for one (most have) and they keep them in their war bags. Overall, it has saved a lot of questions in the field and they have gotten educated as well. I can think of two incidents off the top of my head where these charts and my training at briefings have saved folks from getting their rifles taken from them. Luckily, my deputies listen to what the old man teaches them!!

My hat is off to the "Experienced" folks. What would us middle of the road guys do without your wisdom. Hopefully you guys can stick around a little longer to keep the rest of us on point.

I have not done official briefings yet, but I do make copies and pass it on to those deputies that I know. I get a chance to interact with other agencies and pass it along to those folks as well. I would say that I have passed it out to about 30 different officers in various departments. Usually they say thanks and will use it in the field.

I distribute the chart to members at my officice. When I work a case involves AW, full auto or silencer, I do my best to educate my co-workers about it. Today, I "trained" a new examiner on a converted full auto UZI.
