    Tax stamp question...

I've heard it's nearly impossible to obtain a tax stamp (in Cali) to own an SBR rifle. How true is this? I never tried researching this myself.

I want to build up my Bulgy Krink with the folding stock and not as a pistol, because that's the way it was designed to be.

Unless you are in a commercial enterprise which requires your company to have an SBR the
California DOJ will not issue you the required paperwork to get one from the ATF.

He can obtain the paperwork from the BATF website. Anyone can go there and print them up, even if it requires a "Dangerous Weapons" permit in California. The hard point is getting the Chief LEO in your area to sign off. If he is willing to I see no way this wouldnt be legal. Its very easy up here. Only con is waiting 90 days...
I am a California resident and am waiting on my Colt LE6940 SBR stamp..

I could be wrong but I live in both states and have been legal in both.

getting the paperwork from the BATFE website is not the issue. Even getting the CLEO sign-off isn't an issue since we can use the trust option to exempt us from the CLEO sign-off. The issue is that BATFE will not approve a modern SBR Form 1 or Form 4 in CA without you first having a CADOJ Dangerous Weapons permit (and those are virtually impossible to get).

Did you send in a Form 1 to make an SBR using your CA address, or are you buying an existing SBR from a CA NFA dealer?

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
