Good friend of mine is a Captain at our local city PD, we were chatting the other day talking about our days, and he starts in to tell me a story about some training the City was getting a day or two earlier.
I guess much of the city management was in training in order to learn how to better give performance reviews. At one point the instructor broke everyone into groups for a small project. The LE guys which included the Chief, the Captains and a few lieutenants, were in one group, snickering and the chief finally burst out laughing when the instructor who was walking in between all the groups monitoring progress mentioned that "you may find [through proper reviews] that you have the wrong people in the wrong job..."
The instructor didn't see anything particularly funny with this comment and stoped at the officers table and asked what about it was so funny, My buddy, turned to her, and as if completing her sentence said, "...yeah, and we gave them guns."
to which everyone burst out laughing.
