    Depends on severity and statute of limitations. What kind of skeletons are we talking about? If it's large enough to worry about incriminating yourself, it may very well DQ you from service in LE. PM me details if you want to talk further.

        Exactly what Rob said. My wife worked backgrounds for a couple years and although she was told and read about some odd behaviors none of them resulted in a criminal filing. Many of the incidents did however, result in immediate disqualifications.

          I know the CHP notified my buddies work about a disclosure he made. He was put on some BS duty till they could not prove any wrong doing against him. It involved sex while at work.

          He was DQed from CHiP's for it.
