    License Plate

    Hello guys.
I am just wondering if there VCC that state how the license plate has to be mounted.
In Ukraine there is no any requirements in the vihicle code how the license plate install on the car, pls see pic below. Some people install it upside down and not punished doing this.

It is a violation in CA. CVC 5200 thru 5206 cover this like the previous post indicates

They will pull you over. Usually motorcycles get hassled the most for this when their plates are angled up. It's also a reason why you hardly ever see swingarm sideways license plates on bikes. It's like a big beacon of light that cops see that says, pull me over and check me out!

Thanks a lot guys for prompt respond. Anyway I wasn't planning to do it, just was very interesting if this was acovered in our CVC.

Question for LEO-will you stop and check if you see something like that?

Nope, looks perfectly safe to me.

Read that whole section, nothing says on a single-plate vehicle like a motorcycle that you can not mount it sideways...

VC 5201 states the plate must be mounted so it is clearly visible and maintained so that it is legible. A sideways license plate is not considered legible.

If you're going to bring an old post from the dead, you could at least have your facts straight before doing it.

                  Alex is 100% right.
