    I carry no CCW

Hypothetical, I carry a pistol concealed, no CCW, I own it, no previous record, for all intents and purposes a law abiding citizen (other then the prior).
What do you do as a LEO if you catch me doing this?

Yeah I'm curious what LEO's think of this, it's a misdemeanor correct? What do you think?

You'll get arrested for violation of PC 12025 and 12031 (if loaded).

Especially in Sacramento area, or any other urban area for that matter.

100%, go directly to jail, do not pass GO.

As a LEO for the last 32 years, it would depend greatly on the circumstances of the encounter and when/where this occurred. You're gonna have to convince me that you shouldn't go for a ride.

Most of the time, you are going for a ride, depending on the officer & area, but not always.

I can't give you any more definitive answer than that.

Don't advertise your activities on the internet either. It shows specific intent to violate the law. A conviction can result in the loss of your gun rights.

Yeah I figured, except my friend and I were questioned by an LEO at a local bar after a shooting, the LEO knew he had a concealed weapon and let it slide, he did nothing.
I guess here you would have to say "yeah I'll arrest you" since it's so public, but I have seen otherwise.
Kinda weird since LEO's know better than most what people are up against.

Thanks for the advice, however at no point did I advertise, and I don't carry, never had a reason to, I tend to rely on situational awareness not a gun.

Still a dangerous hypothetical question to ask in this atmosphere.

Just not a good idea man.

I realize that you give off a good vibe but just remember that the law is the law. Even though some cops cut little breaks, most wont let something like that slide.

Really? What are you going to do take my IP, call my ISP find out where I live and stalk me?
If you think my asking this question is dangerous you probably shouldn't go outside.
And what "atmosphere" are you referring to?

I saw this as an LEO forum and I want to know what they think of law abiding citizens doing this, (except of course for illegal conceal and carry) I never get to talk to cops, I want to know how they feel about these things, as I stated I personally do not carry concealed, I have rarely (in the past) carried concealed, I tend to rely on my instinct and situational awareness, and at my age I just don't put myself in situations where I might need a gun.

I have to say, carrying concealed is a burden, you have to meticulously avoid trouble, you can not act out, you must at all times maintain control of your self, your temper, and the people you may be with.
It's to much trouble to carry concealed, even legally.

As above, you'd have to have a pretty good story, or I'd have to know you well enough to be able to thoroughly cuss you out for doing something silly, for me to not take you.

A pinch for illegal CCW is a life changing event, not to be undertaken lightly.

It is a misdemeanor though correct? As near as I can tell it's not a felony.

Yeah it is just a misdemeanor but you will go to jail. Then you will have to spend money on bail to get out unless you want to rely on getting O.R.

It is just not worth it plus like someone already mentioned..... if convicted you will lose your right to own or posses a firearm in California for ten years so it might as well be a felony.....I can't imagine not owning or possessing a gun for 10 years.
