any reccomendations for the best pepper spray (for the girlfriend)

My girlfriend works alone in a upscale clothing store. It is a small store and she is the only employee. Decent amount of cash and I worry sometimes that she is defenseless.

What kind of pepper spray do Law Enforcement Officers use? What have you guys seen take people down? Short of a gun which is a no-no in LA I can't think of a more potent weapon a woman can use.

Go to a law enforcement supply store. Get either DefTec's "First Defense" spray of get "Blue Sabre"

I've used both on suspect's who were actively trying to attack me. It's worked as desired every time i needed it.

I currently have "Blue Sabre" in all of my personal vehicles.

Don't get the junk they sell at car washes, liquor stores, etc. It isn't as good.

+1 on First Defense. I'm a Navy OC instructor; you should be good to go with Mk-4.

Ya know, I had the same impression but was pointed to 12403.7 which states as long as it's under 2.5 oz its ok.

Non LEO can not purchase Mark 4 or larger in California. The size limit is 2.5 oz, which is Mark 3 size.

I use the MK-6. It has a belt clip and a trigger guard. Not a lot of volume (.68oz) but it is enough for a single use and then replace it. About $10-12 per unit.

Currently the hottest rating that is available is from Fox Labs.
It has the highest heat scoville rating.
Look for that brand. Las Vegas PD uses Fox and no ones to get
sprayed with that brand. It's somewhere in the 10,000,000 heat range.
