    Leo's and gunbroker

I see a gun I want on Gunbroker, It's an off roster gun, I'm a LEO and can buy it. If I inform the seller out of state and they're willing to ship, and have an FFL willing to transfer, is there any problems I'm not thinking of?

Sometimes the seller is willing to ship to CA, but they never have before. They might have to be walked through the process. Your FFL would be the best person to walk them through the sign-up.

They wont write me back! I want to sign up, but don't have a credit card, and I only have a yahoo type email.

If it is a private party selling the gun they do not need to be registered with the CFLC. They can send the firearm with a color copy of their ID to the receiving FFL. They need to send the copy of the ID so the receiving FFL has that info to maintain in their records.

If it is an out of state FFL, they need to be registered with the CFLC. It is a 10 minute process to get registered. Then they have to get an authorization number before they can ship. As we all know, some out of state FFLs don't want to register and that is unfortunate as they don't sell the gun and the buyer does not get it either.

I have been given the cold shoulder in the past from some GB dealers, just from saying the dreaded "CA" word.....
