    POST transfer

I've been thinking about moving to Texas, does anyone know how the POST certificate transfers interstate, or do I have to attend another academy?

I think you will attend an abbreviated academy to catch up for Texas law. It is pretty much the same when an LEO transfers to CA.

The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education administers as POST does here. You have to apply to take the exam and once they verify that your experience and training meets qualification, you get to take the exam.

Otherwise the basic academy there is 618 hours.
