    Guard taser training?

I am going to get my taser certification to augment my guard card. Do any of you guys know how long they are good for, or if they are good forever like the baton certs?

    Thanks.

As of todays date, the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) does NOT require certification for carrying either a dry stun gun (contact type device) or pojection type (Tazer brand type) device. Check the BSIS website for further details or contact their help desk.

There are several training companies that offer the training service and provide their own certification cards with THEIR expiration dates on them. You can take TAZER international's training which comes with its own expiration date.

I emailed BSIS regarding this and any type of cert, they said to pretty much follow the laws already in place. However, I think by taking that class, it can help you in court, should you ever have to use your Taser. That way in your defense you could say you've been trained on how to/how not to use it. Instead of just carrying one with no certifications.
