    Minors under the influence

The other night we went through a DUI checkpoint. The driver and me were both sober, however the 2 girls with us weren't and one of them was underage. Since we were all heading the same direction we gave them a ride home from the party. Im just wondering how bad the offense is for transporting someone who is drunk and shouldn't be.

AFAIK taking someone under the influence home is legal, on your end. It's not legal for someone under 21 to purchase, or possess alcohol in public, but unless you bought it for her, you are in the clear.

You did a good thing, providing transportation.

I will admit i knew she was drinking, which i guess would be condoning underage drinking.

Minors are under 18. Underage is under 21. Minor who is under the influence in your car w/o legal guardian present is bad ju-ju.

No minor is supposed to have a BAC reading other than .00, so if they get pulled out of your car post consuming they're going to have a problem. And you may as well. Bad ju-ju indeed.

18-21... a little more latitude, but they are not supposed to have any ETOH on board either.
