I know, and if I get the job I will at least get my Utah and Florida permits. But my concern is being able to carry in California. I teach classes in Mono/Inyo county for the ccw permits.. once you move there and are permanently residing... just apply... I don't know of an easier county to get our permit in... great fishing and hunting... the people are great...not very many of them... but they are the salt of the earth... we LOVE teaching in Inyo/mono... and they are great counties to work with...Greebo, as a matter of feline pride, would attempt to fight or rape absolutely anything, up to and including a four-horse logging wagon. Ferocious dogs would whine and hide under the stairs when Greebo sauntered down the street. Foxes Kept away from the village. Wolves made a detour. Terry PratchettComment

I haven't counted but I would guess there are probably more permits in inyo/mono than in all of the OC...county issued anyway...maybe not...but seems like it...

When you fget outside of the greater LA, SF/bay area, and Sac areas all of a sudden people start thinking right again. I was gonna apply in a northern Cali county and was told exactly what to do by the Sherrif and if I followed his directions he would sign my permit, no restrictions.There are 3 kinds of people in this world.

I lived in Inyo/Mono counties for over 20 years. Never had a permit as I was a Fed LEO (Forest Service) and knew virtually every officer. You won't have any CCW trouble with the Inyo County SO. If you live in Bishop (incorporated city) it might be different. When I moved they were effectively "shall issue" except that the Chief required everyone issued a CCW to use a particular S&W automatic, the same one the PD used, for "safety" reasons (a rookie officer had shot and killed himself a few years previously doing "Lone Ranger" style gun-twirling tricks). The Chief didn't expressly require that S&W, but it was virtually the only firearm that met his requirements.
Mono County will be the same as Inyo, but if you reside in Mammoth Lakes, another incorporated city, you might have problems. Mammoth is essentially a "suburb" of LA and its laws and procedures might follow that "culture."

It sounds like the original poster just wants to get a ccw, if so that is fine and tell us how it goes, Inyo/ Mono counties is such a nice place to live, aww the fishing!Comment
