There are no specific techniques in the real world for wrestling a belligerent drunk into handcuffs. I've seen and been trained on some of CHP's "misdemeanor" techniques. They are weird and don't work well IMHO. The region I work for stopped using those techniques years ago.

Thats silly. You can get this information all over the internet. And there are hidden camera videos of prison inmates training to defeat this stuff also on the internet....everything...is already out there...on the internet!

Anyone who has been arrested or detained more then once knows the procedure, it's not a secret.

You want me to take it down?

Why? Does knowing the cuffing techniques - of which there has to be several - give a would be criminal some sort of tactical advantage? I don't think so....not one bit. Not only can you get this on the internet you can learn it in person at any security guard school.

If a suspect wants to fight from having the cuffs put on he will do so, plain and simple.

A lot of information that people should not have is out there but why in the world would you want to help perpetuate that? How would you feel if I posted a step by step on how to pick hand cuffs? I sort of can't believe this is getting any push-back in a LEO forum.

Here is the CHP method to handcuffing:

I don't personally like this method because I prefer the double bars facing me to make it easier to double lock.

There's like a hundred videos out there on how to do just that - pick handcuffs. And this isn't expressly a LEO forum...it is a subforum on a public forum which anyone can see or post in.

I am not a LEO, by the way. Nor have I been handcuffed (or arrested for that matter). Just simple curiosity on the pic I posted.

Actually unless theres seomthing I am missing the suspect could or could not have her right wrist cuffed. Judging by the body language and position of his strong side/hand in correlation with hers. My moneys on the right wrist being cuffed.
As far as the methodology..It appears that he had her up against the car, hands on head etc.. Got the right wrist cuffed and she went cuckoo. Hes still in a good position as he can a) Put her head down to attempt to regain control or B)Bring her into him, and flip her to the left and "assist her to the ground".That confrontation would end very quickly.
Not saying that anyone directly has but armchair quarterbacking a snapshot? Also noting I dont see what is wrong with calikids perspective..Ok granted the info is out there..But why perpetuate it? Why assist in the dissemination of info? Seems kinda odd anybody would argue for that..except for those 3056'ers out there..They like that info..
                  Embrace the suck.

Since the OP has had his questions answered and the discussion has become more concerned with whether or not cuffing techniques should be posted or not, I believe the thread has served its purpose.
