Tactical light model???

Hello just wondering which mounted tactical lights you guys use i.e. Streamlight, Fenix, pelican, etc...... Also if you combine Laser technology with any of them? Have they saved you in a situation? Seems like it would be a better choice to have one, rather than the old standard of under your loaded hand and to shine in front of you.

I currently have a Surefire X200 mounted on my duty Sig P226R. I have a Fenix TA30 mounted to my personal CA-Legal AR15. Department Remington 870s are equipped with Surefire LED forends. I generally carry either a Streamlight SL20X or new generation (Rebel LED) Mag 2D and a Fenix TK20. I have several other Streamlight and Surefire Flashlights as well as a Quark AA Tactical (warm white) that rotate around, live in my cars, nightstand, etc.

My old duty gun, a Beretta 92FS Vertec, had the X200 as well as a set of CTC grips. I haven't purchased a set of the laser grips yet for my Sig, but I intend to. Lasers are not the answer to everything, and must be used in conjunction with proper training. They are not a crutch and if you can't shoot comfortably without the laser, you're asking for trouble. I remember one guy getting real scared of the laser on my pistol. He thought I was going to tase him. I remember another guy I bounced the laser right in his eyes for quite some time and he knew several pistols and a shotgun were pointed at him. He didn't much care and still decided it would be a good idea to fight with us. To this day, the best "intimidation effect" I've ever received was racking my Ithaca 37, and I still wouldn't count on that.

Even if you have a weapon mounted light, you should also have a hand-held light.

Once we are approved to purchase and carry our own 5.56's, I will run a Surefire Scout or the M962XM07.

We are not allowed to have a laser on our handguns or patrol rifles, issued or personal carry. I am happy as I have never been a fan of them, although my friend from another department loves his. Maybe IR but not out right red lasers. Then again, I'm not a part of any alphabet teams so having an IR laser on my rifle would be pointless.

Touching on SoCal's point...I will never be without my Surefire G2Z.

Can't think of the model number, but it is also made by H&K. As soon as I can make/ find a holster, I will be getting one of these for my USP 40.

Streamlight TLR-2 on an HK USP .45. The laser can have an intimidating affect and help with compliance but you can't count on it.

Streamlight 20X with a Malkoff LED drop in that takes the output up to 750 Lumens. I love this set up. Very bright, lasts a log time on one charge.

Surefire 6P with a Malkoff LED low output (80 lumens) drop in for searching cars on the Sam Brown. I don't like bright lights for car searches as it reflects back.

Malkoff has a drop-in for the SL-20X??? Sweet! It must be new right? I didn't see it on his web page a few months ago...

He did a very limited run of 4 prototypes and I was lucky enough to snag one. This was about a year and a half ago. I've told him he should do more-- it really makes the light a beast.

Surefire X300 on my G21SF. Surefire M900 on my AR, about to switch to a Surefire Scout M600C to save weight.

I see fair amount of Streamlight and Surefire weapons loghts mounted on the LEO's pistols when I examine them. Many of them also have Crimson trace laser mounted.

Even with all the accessories on the pistols, I still see fair amount of misses in LEO involved shootings.

M3 or TLR-1 by Streamlight. The duty holster takes it and didn't really want to have to get another one.

Surefire x300 on everything. It provides more than enough light and is very light weight.
