I was stuck circling the pickup area at Oakland airport when I was pulled over by an officer on a motorcycle for going too fast in the portion of the route that came after the end of the loading zone and before re-entering the loop. He told me to slow down and let it go with a verbal warning.
This comes in stark contrast to a previous instance where I was stopped at a red light in Oakland and a motorcycle officer pulled up next to me. I rolled my windows down halfway or so after a bit to get some air and I was pulled over. Apparently my very light tint which came from the dealership was illegal. During this stop, another cop pulled up and they proceeded to have a 15+ minute conversation about I'm not sure what while I was pulled over. Then told me (less than politely) that I was a long way from home (my permanent address is in the South Bay) and that I should drive home immediately and get it fixed/make an appointment to prove that I fixed it. He went on to say that if another officer pulled me over for the same problem I would receive a point on my record that could not be removed and a second violation would result in a license suspension. At the time I was finishing up at Cal and so I brought the ticket to a UCPD member who told me he had no clue what all the fuss was about.
^^^ remains my only ticket
As annoying as that situation was, the good one makes up for it. I can imagine it must be annoying to be continuously monitoring airport traffic.
