Take a look at the following:

It is a study that backs up what many others have said anecdotally about violent encounters with armed felons. This is an example of a positive informational item produced by the government. Of particular interest to me was the statement that... "none of the attackers interviewed was "hindered by any law--federal, state or local--that has ever been established to prevent gun ownership. They just laughed at gun laws." That pretty much confirms what we've all known for a long time. Definitely an interesting read.

when folks ask me why i'm not against personal gun ownership, i just tell them that it doesn't make any difference as i treat everyone as if they have a gun.

passing laws against gun ownership is just a feel good gesture without commitment to change...much like phoning in contributions to televangelist
