CCW in Riverside County

I am interested in obtaining a CCW in Riverside county. Are there any Riverside county LEO's privy on how strict Sheriff Sniff is on the subject? I've heard through other individuals that it's nearly "impossible" to obtain.

I am a business owner in the insurance industry and travel throughout the county, which includes some very dangerous parts of the county. I have no other security measures other then to bypass those areas which would be a disservice to the good people who need my services.

I would appreciate any thoughts you may have on the subject.

If you can somehow get it that you carry large amounts of cash or valuables, then it is possible. They want good cause, and so far peronal protection is not considered good cause. Read another post about the County Supervisors adopting an ordinance supporting self defense as good cause.

There is a thread in the 2nd Amendment forum that mentions that Supervisor Stone has placed a resolution on the agenda for later today (9am Tues.) at the Board of Supervisor's meeting in downtown Riverside.

The resolution is to recommend that good cause be self defense for a ccw since 27K inmates are being released from the prisons.

This doesn't have the effect of a county law, it is only a recommendation to the sheriff. It is up to him to follow it. You can attend the meeting and speak for 3 minutes if you wish.

If you are going to speak tho, please read the admonishment by wildhawker before attending that is in that 2nd Amendment thread as it is important.
